The bath is very important for every Latvian. It is not just a place where to wash your body, but also a spiritual purification and renewal of energy.

Most Latvians attend bath house each week. It is a wet bath, similar to the Turkish and Russian baths. Story teller L.Reitere told us about preparation for bath, about steaming modes, besoms - bath brushes (made from tree leaves and herbs), and the thoughts the one should go in the bath.
